About NAFCOC Youth Chamber

The NAFCOC Youth Chamber in Nelson Mandela Bay (NAFCOC Youth NMB) is a community of young business-minded people operating in various business sectors within the organisation.

We believe in unifying young entrepreneurs for the purpose of collaboration and in advancing the business interests of the Youth dividend in Southern Africa. NAFCOC Youth is a non – profit organisation that is affiliated to the National African Federation Chamber of Commerce (NAFCOC), a federated chamber that was established in 1964 by Black traders. The Founding fathers of NAFCOC include the late Dr Richard Maponya, Dr Sam Motseunyane, Bigyai Masekela and S.Z Conco.

NAFCOC Youth NMB promotes entrepreneurship and leadership skills amongst its members and strives to integrate young people into the mainstream economy. We work towards creating an environment conducive for young people to explore their full entrepreneurial potential and assist them build long-term sustainable businesses.

We strive to provide an access to markets, opportunities, business guidance, skills and development programs and workshops for our young business owners, in order to develop them as leaders in business and as well as provide enterprise development in partnership with various stakeholders and relevant Youth agencies.

NAFCOC Youth Chamber NMB has a Mission to represent, enable and empower the Youth dividend of this country. The Youth Chamber advocates for fair representation in accordance to South Africa’s B-BBEE policy and believes that the Youth needs to takes centre stage in the building of the South African economy.

These are the upcoming and recuring events

Youth Fridays

Youth fridays is a platform created to help youth business in Nelson Mandela Bay with any compliance issues that the Youth may face in the running of their business.

This platform includes, but not limited to, assitance with CIPC & CSD registrations and ammendments, B-BBEE certificate retrievals and general advice around strategic database registrations.

The platform is also utilised to host informative webinars with key stakeholders on issues relating to business opportunities, training and development, and social development amongst many other topics that directly affect youth businesses.

Monthly Dialogue

NAFCOC Youth Chamber hosts Monthly Dialogues, a program that focuses on various themes and conversations around the Youth and Entrepreneurship.

Every month young entrepreneurs engage on the platform and reflect on the challenges, opportunities and the journey of entrepreneurship.

This program encourages networking and collaboration amongst the members of the Youth Chamber in their respective sectors.

JCI Online Conference

Catch the NAFCOC Youth Chairperson on JCI South Africa talking about NAFCOC Youth and challenges small business face and how they can be addressed.

JCI (Junior Chamber International) is a worldwide community of young active citizens who believe in creating positive change.

It's members promote entrepreneurial and leadership skills needed to generate positive change in their communities, countries and the world.

We look forward to engaging the international community on how we can make a difference as NAFCOC Youth through collaboration and programmes that will enable, empower and develop youth businesses.
